Our college students participated in SSE MUKKA Techno- Cultural Fest on 18/03/2016 and received first place in Group dance - Eastern - Dollu Kunitha.

Dollu Kunitha

Dollu Kunitha (dance), is a major popular drum dance of Karnataka. Accompanied by singing, it provides spectacular variety and complexity of skills. Woven around the presiding deity of Beereshwara or Beeralingeswara, chiefly worshipped by the Kuruba Gowdas of Karnataka and also called Halumathasthas, it presents both entertainment and spiritual edification.

AIET provides vast facility in learning this dance form by well known artist. This particular dance team comprises of 24 members and they represented AIET in different College Fest’s. In this academic year, the team has received first place in 8 different College Fest’s.

From this team, 10 members represented AIET in VTU Youth Fest in the year 2015 held in VTU, Belgavi and received First place in Folk / Tribal Dance. In this academic year 2016, they actively participated in Folk/Tribal Dance competition and got first place.

 
 
 
 

Banjara A folk dance originated from Rajasthan. The Banjara (also called Lambani, Vanjara and Gormati) are a community usually described as nomadic people from the Indian state of Rajasthan, now spread out all over Indian subcontinent.

Banjara – A Dance form, where 20-25 girls represent Lambani Folk Dance by carrying Mud Pots. A beautiful style of dance form, which mesmerizes the audience with the lovely music. This team represented our college in VTU Youth Fest in the year 2014 held at BIET, Davangere. They also received prizes in SDM Dharwad, Nitte Meenakshi Engineering College, Bangalore.

Music Team ‘ Dwani’ – It comprises of 12- 15 members in a team, talented in different type of music forms like Classical Vocal Solo( Hindustani or Carnatic ) , Light Vocal Solo, Eastern and Western Group songs, Instrumental ( Percussion or Non- Percussion ).

They are highly talented and represented AIET in Zonal and State Level Cultural Fest’s and received many attractive prizes.

 
 

Recently our student Ms. Ria Vineetha D’Souza, Final year ECE, took part in “India’s Got Talent” competition with her music band team and also received standing ovation by Judges as well as celebrities. She represented VTU Youth Fest in the year 2015 held in VTU, Belgavi and received First place in Western Solo Singing competition. She also represented AIET in this academic year VTU Youth Fest -2016 and got first prize.

The Chenda is a cylindrical percussion instrument used widely in the state of Kerala, Tulu Nadu of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in India. In Tulu Nadu it is known as chande. Group of AIET students, comprising of both boys and girls play this instrument presenting "Chenda Melam" a musical dance form.

Beat Breakers – Western Dance Group – Comprises of 8- 10 members. A fantastic dance movement with hip hop styles. This team represented our college in different college fests and received many trophy’s and cash awards.
