“Image – In” the- Photography club

Image – In, the Photography club has been started with a main intention to generate photography skills among the students.

 

Objectives of the club:

  1. To impart photography skills among the students.
  2. To interact and obtain knowledge from domain experts.
  3. To organize field trips for hands on experience and get exposure to new environment

Guest Talks

Guest Talk by Mr. Kartik Bhat (financial consultant, wildlife and food photographer) on the topic “Different Genres of Photography” on 6th October 2018.

He explained different types of photography like wild photography, Product photography, Food photography and their importance. He explained what skills a photographer needs to possess and how it will help him to get success.    

He explained how one can enhance their photography skills by participating in different events and programmes.

Organised one day competition on 29th September 2018 on the topic “Beauty of Shobhavana” Winners awarded with cash prizes. To bring competitive spirit among the students and to increase active participation of the students one day photography contest has been organised.

Guest Talk by Mr. Ravi Prakash, (winner Wildlife Photographer of the year 2014, Finalist, people’s choice award – Wildlife photographer of the year 2014

 

Mr. Ravi Prakash delivered a talk on Importance of photography and macro photography on 16th September 2017. He has shown different pictures related to photography. . He explained the importance of photography in today’s world. He explained the techniques need to be followed in macro photography.

 

The talk covered various aspects of photography, the history and etymology of Photography. He highlighted the fact that students have to see, imagine and create a picture from the environment, which is more essential than the aperture or the shutter speed of the camera. Also the picture should communicate a message or a story to the onlooker. Photography is a form of art accepted universally by all. He showed the photographs to students and showed them mistakes that normally happens and identified after the clicks. Pictures from monochrome, portrait, panorama, kirlian, art and commercial forms were displayed and the audience was enthralled by the display and imagination uncovered in them.

 

He explained, images need to portray the real meaning which an photographer wants to communicate to the viewers. He explained what kind of tools and equipments plays an important role in clicking photographs.  

 

 

The programme was involved with photo exhibition by the students. Different kinds of photographs like Wildlife Photography, Black and White Photography, Time Lapse Photography, Macro Photography, Motion Photography, Long exposure Photography, Narrative Photography, Clouse –up Photography and many other forms have been exhibited by the students.

He explained, images need to portray the real meaning which an photographer wants to communicate to the viewers. He explained what kind of tools and equipments plays an important role in clicking photographs.
