At Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology (AIET), Mijar, Moodbidri, student life is a vibrant blend of academics and cultural expression. One of the most anticipated events that highlights this blend is Chakravyuh — the interdisciplinary techno-cultural intercollegiate fest. Since its inception, Chakravyuh has served as a dynamic platform that fosters creativity, technological innovation, and cultural celebration.

By bringing together students from engineering, management, fine arts, and various other disciplines, Chakravyuh reflects the holistic development approach of Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology. The fest not only allows students to exhibit their talents but also helps them gain invaluable exposure to event management, leadership, and teamwork.

VTU YOUTH FEST - CHAKRAVYUH 2016

Chakravyuh 2016 – 16th VTU Intercollegiate Youth Cultural Festival

In 2016, Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology proudly hosted the 16th VTU Intercollegiate Youth Cultural Festival – Chakravyuh, a prestigious event that showcased the immense talent of students from across Karnataka. Spanning four days, from 7th to 10th May 2016, this mega-fest attracted over 2,500 students representing 86 engineering colleges affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). The festival was graced by the presence of Mr. Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, a renowned director, actor, and producer, who inaugurated the event. Participants competed in more than 25 cultural events covering music, dance, dramatics, fine arts, and literary competitions. A highlight of Chakravyuh 2016 was the mesmerizing fusion concert by Bala Bhaskar, which captivated audiences. Adding to the cultural richness was Chitrotsav, a short film competition that drew impressive entries from both students and professionals across South India.

Chakravyuh 2015 – Continuing the Legacy of Excellence

Chakravyuh 2015 was a remarkable chapter in the journey of this beloved fest at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology. The event successfully continued the tradition of combining cultural vibrancy with technical brilliance. Participants from engineering colleges across Karnataka came together to compete in a variety of events including music, dance, theatre, fine arts, literary activities, as well as technical and management competitions. Chakravyuh 2015 stood out for its high-energy performances and enthusiastic participation, leaving a lasting impression on attendees and further strengthening the identity of AIET as a hub for cultural and academic excellence.

Chakravyuh 2014 – The Grand Beginning

The inaugural edition of Chakravyuh took place on 4th, 5th, and 6th April 2014, marking the beginning of a vibrant tradition at Alva’s Institute of Engineering and Technology. With participation from over 2,000 students representing 80 colleges across the country, the three-day festival featured more than 100 competitions. The event was inaugurated by the respected Mr. Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, whose presence added prestige to the occasion. One of the biggest attractions of Chakravyuh 2014 was a live concert by Euphoria, one of India’s most celebrated bands at the time. The fest also included engaging attractions like the Motorig Auto Expo, Arcadia spot gaming zone, Hogathon eating challenge, and stand-up comedy shows. Witnessed by an external audience of over 10,000 people, Chakravyuh 2014 set a high benchmark and established AIET as a centre for large-scale student events.

Chakravyuh offers a wide range of events catering to students from various fields and interests.

Technical events like paper presentations, coding challenges, hackathons, robotics contests, and workshops by industry experts give students the opportunity to demonstrate and enhance their technical knowledge. Cultural events span music, dance, drama, fine arts, and fashion shows, providing a stage for creative expression.

Management games and business simulations help students develop problem-solving and strategic thinking skills. Literary contests like debates, essay writing, and poetry recitation encourage thoughtful dialogue and sharpen communication skills. Student Leadership and Learning through Chakravyuh
