Overview:
As part of the Capacity Development initiative for MBA first-year students, the team Alpha, from Section B organized a dynamic and engaging event. This inter-team business event is designed to test your practical knowledge, analytical thinking, communication skills, and creativity across three dynamic rounds. Participation from all team members is essential. Active involvement, critical thinking, and collaboration will be key to your success.
Inauguration:
The event officially commenced at 2:30 PM under the coordination of Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Pavithra Jain. Nachappa welcomed the participants and Arjuna introduced the rules and regulations for the activities. He then invited the esteemed judges for the day, Mr. Ashok Rao and Ruchir Anand, who were present to evaluate the performances and provide insightful feedback throughout the event.

Round 1: The Courtroom Drama – “The Fall”
Round 2: “Brand Revival Auction” – The Bidding War
Time: 2:30 PM – 3:40 PM
Objectives: To enhance participants’ critical thinking and argumentation skills through role-play and case analysis and to cultivate business acumen and brand analysis through strategic bidding and negotiation.
Round 1: The Courtroom Drama – “The Fall”
Team Size: Each team must have 2–4 members with clear role divisions.
Preparation Time: Teams get 2 minutes to prepare after the case is given.
Time Limit: Use 5 mins for opening, 3 mins for cross, and 2 mins for closing.
Respectful Conduct: Use original content; no offensive or disrespectful behaviour.
Judging Criteria: Based on argument, clarity, rebuttal, creativity, and teamwork.
Round 2: “Brand Revival Auction” – The Bidding War
Budget Limit: Each team gets a fixed virtual budget for bidding (5 lakhs).
Bidding Process: Teams will bid for dead or declining brands in real-time rounds.
Revival Pitch: After winning, teams present a 3–5-minute brand revival strategy.
Round 3: “The Phoenix Presentation”- The Rebirth Strategy
Time: 3:45 PM – 4:40 PM
Judges: Mrs. Priya Seqeuiera, Mrs. Pavithra Jain, Mr. Johnson Fernandes.
Objectives:
To develop creative marketing, branding, and business solutions, to enhance presentation and to promote teamwork and effective communication under time constraints.
Team Size: Each team must have 4–6 members.
Brand Assignment: Teams will be assigned a defunct or struggling brand.
Preparation Time: Teams get 2 minutes to develop their rebirth strategy.
Presentation Time: Each team gets 2-3 minutes to pitch their strategy.
Judging Criteria: Based on innovation, feasibility, branding, clarity, and impact
Results & Rankings:
Final scores were compiled based on performance across all three rounds. The results are as follows:
1st winner Bhageera – 66 Points
2nd winner Vortex – 62 Points
3rd winner Aura – 61 Points
4th winner Sigma – 60 Points
5th winner Brainy Bunch – 57 Points
6th winner Aikyam – 56 Points
Outcomes:
- Participants enhanced their critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills through role-play and structured presentation formats.
- They developed strategic decision-making abilities by analysing failing brands and proposing realistic revival strategies.
- Creative thinking was fostered through innovative pitches, persuasive arguments, and dynamic brand positioning ideas.
- Teams gained hands-on experience in real-world business scenarios, including legal issues, brand valuation, and marketing strategy.
- The activities-built confidence, encouraged collaboration, and improved communication under time-bound challenges.
Conclusion:
These three rounds provided a holistic learning experience by combining legal insight, business strategy, and creative branding. Participants not only showcased their analytical and presentation skills but also demonstrated adaptability, innovation, and teamwork. Overall, the event succeeded in simulating real-world business challenges while keeping the competition engaging and impactful.
