Date: 09-06-2025

Event: Capacity Development Activity

Organized by: I year, C Section

Objectives of the event :

  1. To foster strategic thinking, marketing insight, and decision-making under pressure.
  1. To encourage out-of-the-box thinking by integrating creative elements like ad creation and product pitching.
  2. To enhance communication and team collaboration through active participation.
  3. To provide a platform for spontaneous expression and role-play in marketing contexts.
  4. To instill confidence and improve presentation skills in a competitive but supportive environment.

As a part of capacity development activity class, the students from I year C section of PG Department of Business Administration had conducted various events. The goal was to infuse creativity into core management concepts through interactive tasks that promoted teamwork, spontaneity, and marketing skills in a dynamic setting.

The event featured two competitive rounds, each tailored to test different aspects of business acumen from strategic bidding to real-time advertising. It offered an opportunity for participants to break the academic monotony, enhance collaboration, and express their ideas in an imaginative format.

The event consisted of two rounds:

ROUND 01: Battle of the Brands – The Bidding Arena

A strategic  auction-style game where each team received 10,000 points to bid on marketing related items or concepts. With limited points and intense competition, this round tested the teams’ planning, value assessment, and persuasion skills.

Key Skills Tested: Strategic bidding, quick decision-making, team consensus, and justification of choices during Q&A.

ROUND 02: Build the Best Ad – On-the-Spot Marketing

Each team picked a random product (either strange or regular) and had 10 minutes to prepare a 2-minute advertisement. This was followed by a 2-minute explanation of product advantages and customer benefits.

Judging  Criteria: Creativity, Clarity, and Impact.

Key Skills Tested: Spontaneity, communication, teamwork, product positioning, and storytelling.

Outcomes of the event:

  • All participants actively engaged in both rounds, showcasing creativity and strong teamwork.
  • Teams demonstrated remarkable adaptability in time-bound, surprise-based tasks.
  • The event allowed students to experience real-life marketing situations in a fun, hands-on way.
