We are pleased to announce that Darshan, a determined and enthusiastic student from 3rd Year ICB, has secured 3rd place in the 4×400 meters relay event, showcasing commendable athletic skills and team spirit.

The event was part of the annual intercollegiate sports meet, where athletes from various institutions competed in a spirited display of speed, endurance, and teamwork. Darshan, along with his relay team, demonstrated excellent coordination and perseverance throughout the race, ultimately securing a well-deserved podium finish.

CyberShield Conference 2025

We attended the CyberShield Conference 2025 as a team from HacFy to explore the latest developments in the cybersecurity domain. The event provided valuable insights into the growing cybersecurity ecosystem, especially the rising opportunities and advancements in Tier-2 regions.

During the conference, we engaged in technical sessions, interacted with experts, and learned about current trends in cyber defense, job roles, and skillsets in demand. It was a great platform to understand how cybersecurity is evolving and how we can align our efforts to contribute effectively.

Mobile Safety and Cybersecurity for MBA students

We successfully conducted an awareness session on Mobile Safety and Cybersecurity for MBA students & MBA Faculties, led by Team HacFy in collaboration with the Cyber Security Club and supported by students from the Department of ICB.

The initiative emphasized how crucial cyber hygiene is for future business leaders, ensuring they’re not just digitally literate, but also cyber-responsible.

This session was part of our ongoing effort to extend cybersecurity literacy beyond technical departments and empower every individual with the tools and mindset to stay secure in a connected world.

Pavan Kumar C K, a 3rd-year student from the Department of ICB, had the privilege to serve as Guest Faculty during the 4-day cybersecurity workshop at NIE Mysuru. The workshop provided students with deep, hands-on exposure to real-world cybersecurity practices. From understanding phishing to working with tools like Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, and Nikto, participants gained practical skills. Each session combined technical learning with interactive activities, making complex topics accessible. The event successfully sparked curiosity and empowered students to pursue cybersecurity with confidence.

Tanvi Shetty, a third-year student from the Department of ICB, achieved the position of runner-up as a part of the university-level Kabaddi team competition. Her dedication and teamwork were instrumental in helping the team secure a strong finish in the tournament, showcasing both athletic skill and sportsmanship.

 

Industrial Visit for Practical Learning Experience

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain) recently organized an industrial visit for its students to provide them with firsthand exposure to real-world applications of their academic learning. This visit was aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation, allowing students to observe industry operations, emerging technologies, and best practices in action.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to interact with professionals, explore cutting-edge tools and technologies, and understand the workflows involved in sectors related to IoT, cybersecurity, blockchain, and software development. The experience enriched their understanding of current industry trends and challenges, inspiring them to align their skills with market demands.

The department believes that such visits are crucial in preparing students for professional careers by enhancing their technical insight, improving problem-solving skills, and fostering industry readiness.

Conducted a comprehensive 3-day workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT)

Organized by the Department of CSE (IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain)

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain) conducted a comprehensive 3-day workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT) from 18th to 20th November 2024. The workshop was designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge of modern IoT hardware platforms and their real-time applications.

Participants were introduced to key development boards and microcontrollers widely used in the IoT domain, including:

Arduino Uno – for basic prototyping and sensor interfacing,
Jetson Nano Kit – for edge AI computing and computer vision tasks,
ESP32 – for wireless communication and low-power IoT applications,
Raspberry Pi – for full-fledged IoT project development using Linux-based systems.

The workshop emphasized hands-on learning, enabling students to interface various sensors and devices, understand data transmission, and explore edge computing capabilities. It provided a valuable opportunity to explore hardware-software integration, IoT protocols, and real-world use cases, preparing students to build scalable and efficient IoT solutions.

The event saw enthusiastic participation and active engagement, further strengthening the department’s mission to nurture industry-ready professionals in the field of IoT and Cyber Security.

25 Days Python Training

Conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain)

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is proud to offer a comprehensive 25-day Python training program from 10th March 2025 to 8th April 2025. This training is meticulously designed to provide participants with a strong foundation in Python programming, focusing on both fundamental concepts and practical applications relevant to modern computing challenges.

The curriculum covers essential topics such as:

  • Python syntax and semantics
  • Data types, control structures, and functions
  • Object-oriented programming principles
  • Working with libraries and modules
  • File handling and exception management
  • Introduction to data analysis and visualization
  • Basics of web scraping and automation scripts
  • Hands-on projects to reinforce learning

The program aims to equip students with the programming skills needed to excel in areas like IoT development, cybersecurity automation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Through a mix of theoretical lectures, coding exercises, and project work, participants gain confidence to solve real-world problems efficiently.
