Dr. Vrinda started the talk by defining stress; Stress is the “non-specific response of the body to any kind of demand made upon it”. The students should be able to identity if they are actually facing any stress in order to overcome it or handle it. She also made the students understand the different situations that produce stress which was termed as “Stressors”. She explained about the external and internal stressors and the reasons for it. Then she discussed about the different types of Stress which are Eustress and Distress.

Once she made the students understand what exactly was stress, she moved on to Yoga and how it would be helpful in managing stress. Initially she discussed about what exactly was yoga and about the different types of yoga. She also told the students how stress could be managed effectively through yoga. Later the do’s and don’ts of yoga was dealt with.

She concluded the session by quoting Aurobindo “Yoga is the methodical effort towards self perfection by the development of potentialities latent in the individual”.
