The Department of Civil Engineering, AIET, Moodbidri, successfully organized a vibrant and engaging Tech Fest on 11th April 2025 at the Civil Engineering block. The fest was designed to
promote technical knowledge, creativity, and teamwork among students through a series of innovative and competitive events.The Tech Fest was inaugurated by Prof. Shankargiri K.S, Department of Civil Engineering, AIET. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the importance of practical knowledge and technical skills in the ever-evolving field of Civil Engineering. He also encouraged students to participate in such events to enhance their problem-solving abilities and to foster a spirit of innovation.
The events organized during the fest included:
1. Technical Seminar: Participants presented on various emerging trends and technologies in Civil Engineering. This session provided a platform for knowledge exchange and encouraged critical thinking and research orientation among students.
2. Technical Quiz: A multi-round quiz competition that tested participants’ theoretical and practical understanding of Civil Engineering concepts. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and sparked healthy competition among teams.
3. Geo Cache (Treasure Hunt): An outdoor event combining geospatial knowledge with excitement. Clues related to Civil Engineering topics led participants through a series of challenges around the campus, enhancing both teamwork and technical awareness.
4. Centre Line Marking: A hands-on event where teams demonstrated their knowledge of marking centre lines for buildings as per specifications. This activity provided practical exposure to one of the fundamental skills in site engineering.
5. Auto Plan in AutoCAD: Participants were required to draft building plans using AutoCAD software within a given timeframe. This event assessed their proficiency in technical drawing and familiarity with digital drafting tools.
The Tech Fest concluded with a valedictory session and prize distribution ceremony. Winners of each event were felicitated with certificates and accolades. The event was a grand success and
received positive feedback from students and faculty alike.
