Technical Fest

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain) actively promotes student engagement through its official forum, CYNEX, which organizes a range of technical and non-technical activities designed to nurture innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Code & Connect: Arduino Uno Challenge

This technical event challenged students to step into the shoes of embedded engineers by debugging faulty Arduino codes and simulating circuits. The multi-round competition progressed from basic simulations to advanced IoT integrations using platforms like Tinkercad and Wokvi. Participants demonstrated their skills in hardware troubleshooting, logic correction, and system integration, gaining hands-on experience relevant to real-world embedded systems and IoT development.

Code Quest: Crack the Cipher

A thrilling cryptography-based event, this competition tested students’ ability to decode encrypted messages using classic techniques like Caesar Cipher, Atbash Cipher, Vigenère Cipher, and Morse Code. Across three rounds, participants solved riddles, decrypted layered messages, and participated in a real-time treasure hunt, applying both logic and technical knowledge. The event helped enhance cybersecurity awareness and introduced participants to the fundamentals of secure communication.

Flip Tac Toe

This fast-paced and fun event tested memory, reflexes, and pattern recognition. Participants competed in a dynamic environment where quick decision-making and sharp focus were essential. The game not only encouraged cognitive engagement but also offered a refreshing break from technical challenges while maintaining a competitive edge.

Speed Stack Showdown

Designed as a non-technical activity, this event focused on testing participants’ hand-eye coordination, agility, and reaction speed. Students raced against time to stack and unstack cups in specific sequences, promoting focus, precision, and friendly competition. The event was well-received for its energy and participation across various semesters.
